About Dr. Elist
James J. Elist, M.D. specializes in urology and has operated his private practice in Beverly Hills, California since 1982. His major interests (sub specialties) include impotency, male sexual dysfunction. and infertility (including hundreds of successful cases resulting in conception).
He won First Prize at Washington Urological Society on March 1981 and Second Prize at Mid Atlantic Section on November 1981.
Dr. Elist has been a member of and served as the chairperson on the Oncology Committee, Ethics Committee, and Utilization Committee and Medical Records Review Committee at hospitals such as the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
He was named by Los Angeles Magazine as The Best Plastic Surgeon – Urologist in L.A on July 1998.
He was also elected by the Office of Hearing and Appeal of the United States Government as a Medical Expert Witness in 1997, 1999, 2001 and 2003.
He received the National Leadership Award and was elected as Honorary Co Chairman of the Physician Advisory Board to the U.S Congress.
Internationally, Dr. Elist is known for teaching and training surgeons in the Middle East and Europe. Nationally, he was the first surgeon in the Los Angeles area to implement new penile prosthesis devices from American Medical Systems Co.
He has lectured or moderated for more than 15 years in different societies within the China Urological Association including:

| Dr. Elist is the first physician to have published an article that explored the effect of smoking on impotency, which resulted in a new treatment for impotency. This article was presented to Congressman Waxman and the Surgeon General to include this fact as a precautionary warning on cigarette packages. Dr. Elist has five patents for the treatment of impotency and congenital male sex organ deformities. He has been interviewed by many reporters and featured on NBC, KTLA, The Marilyn Kagan Show, Fox News, and CNN. Within the past fifteen years, his practice has treated many celebrities. In addition to these specialties, Dr. Elist also treats diseases of the kidneys, bladder, and prostate. Dr. Elist also authored the book Put Impotency in Your Past, in which he answers many commonly asked questions about impotency and penile dysfunctions. |  |
