Make An Appointment

The idea of undergoing penis surgery may be a little intimidating to some people. No-one likes the idea of having any type of medical procedure done, even more so when the operation is on a sensitive part of the body. However, the penis enlargement process is actually a very quick (45-60 minutes) procedure that involves a minimal incision in the pubic area (no incisions on the penis). Thanks to advances in medical technology, you can leave the clinic the same day.

Many men are embarrassed to talk about enlargement surgery with their doctor, so they avoid getting help. Often, they are unaware of the safe and effective options available, thinking that they have to be content with the penis size they have. In reality, penile enlargement (sometimes referred to as larger penis surgery) is a practical long-term solution for men with a small penis that offers permanent results.

In this article, we cover what penis surgery involves, which types of patient it is suitable for, and what to expect afterward.

Why Choose Larger Penis Surgery?

There are many reasons that men consider penis surgery. For some, a small penis can cause self-confidence issues or a perceived lack of sexual enjoyment for their partner. For others, the surgical procedure is a medical necessity caused by injury, trauma, or a specific urological condition. If you suffer from small penis syndrome, buried penis, or curved penis, then penis surgery can help to increase the size and improve function.

There are many men who also choose to increase the length and girth of their penis for cosmetic surgery reasons. Whatever reason for considering penis enhancement, our world-class team of healthcare professionals will support you at every step of the journey. As one of the leading Urology clinics on the West Coast, we have extensive experience in resolving penile length issues and penile girth issues.

An important benefit of penis surgery is that the results can be permanent. Unlike medications and stretching instruments, this medical procedure can  increase the length for good, so the problem can be  fixed and you can move forward without worry. It can increase girth as well as length to create a proportionate result that is aesthetically pleasing too.

How Does It Work?

Penis surgery involves inserting a prosthetic silicone sheath along the shaft of the penis. The procedure takes between forty-five minutes and one hour, after some recovery time you can usually leave the same day. You’ll need to come back for follow-up appointment for three days after the procedure where we check your progress. This means that you can be back to work within 5 days and won’t need to take much leave.

The procedure itself involves general anesthesia so you won’t be aware of anything while it happens. A small incision is made above the base of the penis in the public area, and a penile implant is inserted along the shaft. The physician will select an implant that matches your size and will completely customize the procedure to your specific needs. This can increase the length of the penis as well as the girth too.

Does It Hurt & Are There Side Effects?

We choose to use Penuma implants for our penis surgery procedures for several reasons, one of which is the minimal discomfort involved for patients. It involves a shorter surgery time and lower levels of pain and discomfort too. The discomfort patients feel can vary from person to person and ranges from mild to moderate. However, this is tightly controlled through the use of prescription pain medications to minimize discomfort.

You may notice swelling in the first two weeks following surgery but this is normal and anticipated. You should abstain from sexual intercourse for 6 weeks afterward and may feel some pain with an erect penis. Any discomfort can be managed by pain medication.

Following the penis surgery, girth in both the flaccid and erect state can increase. The length of the penis when flaccid can also be noticeably increased, however, it can take 6-8 months (or longer) for the full erect length to be achieved.

Like any surgery, there are potential side effects. On the rare occasions where side effects have occurred after this procedure, they have been mostly due to patient non-compliance with the instructions that we have provided. Minor side effects and complications that have been linked with the procedure include:

  • Mild to Moderate Erection Pain (first 2-3 weeks)
  • Bruising
  • Inflammation and Swelling
  • Temporary Penile Retraction (improves over recovery period)
  • Temporary Decrease in Sensation (improves over recovery period)
  • Possible Need for Removal and Later Reinsertion
  • Infection

A detailed set of potential risks, complications, benefits, and alternatives, including no surgery, will be discussed with you in advance of the procedure.

What Size of Increase Do Patients See?

Our penis surgery patients have historically seen an increase of around 1.5 to 2.5 inches in girth and length, however, results can vary by individual. The penile enlargement implant is personalized by our experienced physicians to your individual size. This creates a natural-looking result in both the flaccid and erect states.

If you would like to increase the size of your penis then surgical treatment offers a potential permanent solution. The procedure can immediately increase the length and girth of the penis in the flaccid state as well as the girth in the erect state. For the final erect length to be observed, this may take 6-8 months (or longer) as it takes time for the skin to stretch sufficiently. This allows the penis to fully move out of the pubic area so that it can reach its full length.
